Ramiz Raja makes an indirect jab at Wasim Akram

Ramiz Hasan Raja was the 35th Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board from September 2021 to December 2022. He is a Pakistani cricket administrator, commentator, former player, and YouTuber.

Raja played for Pakistan as a player in the 1980s and 1990s.

In Ramiz Talks, his YouTube channel, he also discusses cricket.

Raja was born into a Janjua clan Punjabi Muslim Rajput household. On his wife's side, his mother-in-law is from Delhi, and his father-in-law is from Karnal, Haryana. His parents had left the Indian city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, during the Partition of India.

He eventually requested Pakistani architect Nayyar Ali Dada to construct his Lahore home after Jaipur's Rambagh Palace because he was a fan of Rajasthani architecture.

His brother Wasim Raja and cousin Atif Rauf played for the Pakistan national cricket team, and another brother Zaeem Raja played first-class cricket. His father Saleem Akhtar was a cricket player during the British colonial era who played for Multan and Sargodha following the split.

Ramiz Raja contends that Karachi Kings must replace its administration and coaches in order to turn around their HBL Pakistan Super League fortunes (PSL).

Wasim Akram has been the president of the Karachi Kings since PSL 4 and is frequently spotted in the dressing room with the players. Also, he mentors the franchise's bowlers.

With their six-run loss to Quetta Gladiators on Saturday, Karachi Kings, who placed lowest in the points standings last year, suffered their third straight loss in the HBL PSL 8.

"Since Karachi Kings have been working under the same management for a period of years, they must eventually take a break, thus they must change their think tank and mentors. If they don't finish in the top three this season, they must determine whether to make changes" Raja stated on a regional TV station.

Earlier this month, in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Akram attacked Raja.

"Ramiz came for six days, and he's since returned to his original location. Wasim commented on Raja's removal as PCB chairman, I think it is a terrible concept that cricketers should be the chairman of PCB."

Raja added that if the Karachi Kings keep losing, the team's supporters will eventually run out of patience.

"There will be a feeble effort from the spectators to enter the stadium if you consistently lose at home. A fan's soul will be destroyed if their side can't even chase a 160-run target after going through so many checks to enter the stadium and paying for pricey tickets" Raja came to an end.

On Sunday, Kings will play host to Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
